BETHLEHEM- Bethlehem City Police are looking for Benito Vazquez III, 35, of Bethlehem, who has a warrant out for his arrest. Vazquez is being charged with aggravated assault, harassment and simple assault. Magisterial Judge Roy Manwaring received the warrant from Bethlehem Police Saturday night, October 1st and approved it.
The charges stem from an event that happened earlier that day. Vasquez is accused of beating his girlfriend, who escaped through a first floor window and sought help at a local McDonald’s restaurant.
The girlfriend alleges that Vasquez choked her, then struck her multiple times in the face. When police investigated the claims, they found blood splatters scattered in the bedroom where the girlfriend say the attack took place. They also found the bedroom to be in disarray, further corroborating her claims.
The girlfriend was taken to a hospital for treatment. The nature of her injuries was not revealed. The police have been looking for Vazquez since Saturday night.
