Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy stated, when passing sentence, “This case is about ego – the ego of a politician consumed with her image from Day One. This case is about retaliation and revenge against perceived enemies who this defendant … felt had embarrassed her in the press.”
The Judge also accused Kane of having an “off with your heads” way of doing things as the Attorney General. She also accused Kane of being a political “neophyte.”
“This clearly shows that no one is above the law,” added Bucks County Assistant D.A. Michelle Henry. “What she did and what she put the citizens of the Commonwealth through during this period of time was significant and that’s why today her being led out in handcuffs was so important for everyone to understand and see that we investigated this case and prosecuted it vigorously to get to this end.”
